Why Diesel Exhaust Fluid is required?
With pollution wrecking havoc in our lives, BS6 norms have been laid in India to control diesel engine emissions. This has made diesel engine vehicle manufacturers to look for an alternate to lower emissions and control pollution using Diesel Exhaust Fluid with SCR system (selective catalytic reduction).
What happens when vehicle runs out of DEF?
Vehicles manufactured under BS6 norms in India have an indicator for DEF on the dashboard which gives an alert to the driver. There is a gauge similar to fuel gauge similar to fuel guage that indicates the level of DEF in your vehicle. If your vehicle runs out of DEF, either the vehicle will stop or the vehicle’s power will be reduced and you have to refill the DEF to resume to normal running conditions.
Why Elofic DEF?
Elofic Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is a liquid used to reduce the amount of air pollution created by a diesel engine. Elofic Diesel Exhaust Fuid is manufactured as per ISO 22241 & IS 17042 (Part 1) specifically. Elofic DEF is a non-toxic aqueous urea solution made with 32.5% urea and 67.5% deionized water. Elofic DEF is consumed in selective catalytic reduction exhaust system (SCR) that lowers the concentration of Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) in the diesel exhaust emissions from a diesel engine.

Availability of Elofic DEF
Elofic DEF is available in smaller packaging of 5Ltr. and 20Ltr. which makes it easy for you to carry and refill the DEF tank yourself.
Storage
- Elofic DEF is best before 12 months from the date of manufacturing subject to storage in a good, ventilated covered area and which is not exposed to direct sunlight. Storage temperature to be between -6°C to 30°C for maintaining optimum condition.
- If storage is above 30° C or in a vented container, the shelf-life will be best before 6 months from the date of manufacturing.
- Keep away from dust & dirt.
Tips to follow
- Use it in the DEF tank only, do not fill into Diesel/Fuel Tank.
- Avoid contamination with Diesel/Oil.
- Use Elofic DEF with unique spout to fill the tank to avoid spillage.
